Children should first visit the team at our family dentistry office by the time they reach 12 months. An electric toothbrush offers many benefits over a manual toothbrush, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Electric toothbrushes, typically, are more efficient than regular toothbrushes. You need to use a toothbrush that you can brush with twice a day for two minutes each time.

Our dentists recommend brushing teeth with toothpaste at least twice a day at a 45-degree angle using a circular motion. Dental floss is the best method of cleaning between the teeth, which we recommend doing daily.

Some areas of the mouth are more susceptible to plaque buildup and tooth decay because they cannot be easily reached with a toothbrush. This is why we recommend flossing at least once a day since the process can remove plaque from hard-to-reach places.
